After speculation of a possible rain delay, Pitchfork Music Festival 2022 went on in full force for its first day. The rain did not stop the crowd from dancing, partying, or singing their hearts to their favorite artists.
All crowd attendees and press crew were dressed head to toe in make-shift rain gear and plastic garbage bags, or those who wanted to cover up to stay completely dry, went to the corner and bought a rain poncho for ten to twenty dollars.
As stated, the rain didn’t stop anyone, Tierra Whack drew the biggest crowd to start the day, and it was a performance not to be missed. She even heard and spotted a super fan and brought him to the stage to perform a verse with her, the fan nailed it, and the crowd loved it.
In addition, many other fan favorites drew large crowds of fans, such as Parquet Courts, SPELLING, Camp Cope, Indigo De Souza, Wiki, Dawn Richard, Spiritualized & Amber Mark.
After a long day of rain, day 1 of Pitchfork Music Festival 2022 ended with a beautiful set by festival veterans, The National. They performed all of their usual hits, such as “I Need My Girl”, “Graceless”, and some newer tracks from their latest albums.
