With his new single “Do You Love Me” causing quite the stir this summer, and garnering strong support from the likes of BBC 1Xtra, Capital Xtra, Bang Radio and Beat FM among leading tastemakers, UK-based Afrobeats star and 2015 NEA Awards nominee Moelogo has just unveiled the highly anticipated music video for the Maleek Berry-produced single, premiered via VEVO.
Directed by Ini (InneX Pictures) and Chas Appeti (Krept & Konan, Ghetts, Lethal B), with cameo appearances from Capital Xtra’s DJ Abrantee and Maleek Berry, the “Do You Love Me” visuals tell a gripping and rather poignant story about betrayal, jealousy, revenge, but most importantly love, using the infamous H. Jackson Brown Jr. quote “sometimes the heart sees what is invisible to the eyes” as its inspiration.
From his last single “My Sweetie” released via Island Records, to his breakthrough track “Pangolo“, to last year’s underground hit “The Baddest” featuring UK Rap veteran Giggs, Moelogo has continued to push the envelope for Afrobeats music in the UK, and is one of the leading British artists at the cutting edge of the genre. Enjoy the visuals for his latest offering “Do You Love Me” below.

Inheaven – “Bitter Town”:
Do you need some joyous shoegaze to get motivated and prepare yourself for winter? Well South London quartet, Inheaven, have just the ticket in their new single “Bitter Town”. It’s like listening to an eighties montage where you’re the star and the only outcome is eternal and slightly ironic happiness. Reverbed guitars build underneath lyrics like “ignore the sycophantics, embrace the young romantics” from singer James. The track demands attention, with its heavy hooks and noisy sound “Bitter Town” is huge in its presence. Inheaven have already created a storm with their debut single “Regeneration” and it appears they’re not ready to stop the racket any time soon. Stream “Bitter Town” below via Soundcloud.
Jam Baxter + Edward Scissortongue – “First Bite”:
High Focus Records continue their dominance of homegrown hip-hop with the release of the music video for “First Bite”. The track is the first release from the upcoming Laminated Cakes LP, the result of a collaboration between Contact Play MCs Jam Baxter and Edward Scissortongue, with production from the insanely talented Ghosttown, who you may recognise as the man behind the boards on Dead Players material, Baxter‘s collaboration with LDZ rapper Dabbla. The album doesn’t have a scheduled release date as of yet, but you can check the video out below.
Hinds – “Garden”:
Hinds, the four Madrid girls – formerly known as Deers – who’ve been spreading their infectious Spanish-sun energy and uninhibited indie racket on both sides of the pond for well over a year now, took to the web yesterday to share two things with us: that they’re releasing their eagerly anticipated debut album Leave Me Alone on January 8, 2016, and the opening track of the album itself, “Garden”. In keeping with their free-spirited live shows, that more often than not, end with members of the band in the crowd and vice versa, the girls extend an invitation to “take you dancin’” on the newly-unveiled album-opener as guitars churn away in the background. It’s an irresistible offer.
