UK R&B/Soul songstress BIM is a London girl with gospel roots, and her rich, emotive and exuberant voice finds its natural place in the multi-layered soul she chooses to create. She is equipped with a soaring mezzo soprano, which has tone and texture in abundance, deft songwriting and a clear point of view.
The British Nigerian native sat down with us on the latest episode of our ‘Behind The Music’ podcast series to talk about her debut EP ‘Beauty In Chaos’, the inspiration behind the project, and the subjects and themes she is exploring throughout the EP.
Our interview sees BIM talking about touring with Bastille, what her new EP ‘Beauty In Chaos’ is all about, the moments in her life that led her to look for the silver lining in life, why and how being fully seen is important for black women, and being black in Britain, among other things.
