“I Forget Where We Were” is the stunning and captivating new single from multi-award winning British artist Ben Howard. The new single is the title track from his forthcoming and eagerly anticipated second album, which is set for release on the 20th of October through Island Records. I Forget Where We Were follows the release of Ben’s hugely successful debut album Every Kingdom which was released in October 2011 and sold over a million copies worldwide. The album also received an array of awards and nominations, including a Mercury Music Prize nomination, and two BRIT Awards in 2012 for British Breakthrough and British Solo Male Artist.
Ben’s forthcoming album was produced by Ben himself along with his drummer Chris Bond at
Start Point Farm Studios in Devon and promises to be as utterly beautiful as his first if this new
single is anything to go by, or the epic eight minute taster (or should I say TEASER) “End Of The Affair” which was released earlier this month. Both previews of the album should be enough selling or advertising the forthcoming album should need, as each piece of brilliance are without a doubt, some of the most beautiful sounding tracks I have heard all year.
“I Forget Where We Were” starts with a music intro that on its own takes over every single sense of your body and then all of a sudden Ben’s vocals come in and the rest is history… Not only is he one of the most talented songwriters of this generation, but he has these vocals that tug at every emotion we have, every single lyric he sings is filled with passion and feeling and musicians like him are the reason I love this job. “Oh no, and that’s how summer passed, Oh your, great divide, and range of green green grass, oh, maybe it was peace at last, who knew”, Ben sings, bringing the song to an end….. until I press the refresh button and bliss begins again!
