Debuting as the Hottest Record in the World last night on BBC Radio 1, “Chasing Rubies” is a refreshingly eclectic and rousing new song from sensational Pop-Folk brother duo Hudson Taylor aka Harry and Alfie Hudson, and its one of the best new tracks I have heard in a while. This new single promises to really be the breakthrough track for these young and talented artists. The single is out on the 5th of October via Polydor Records and is the latest in a string of releases from the brothers who hail from the outskirts of Dublin.
Having caught the attention of fans and critics with their incredibly well received EPs and singles including “Battles”, “Weapons” and “Every Breathe You Take” which you will have heard on reality TV show Made In Chelsea, “Chasing Rubies” is another step up for Harry and Alfie and will already start to seriously establish itself as a definitive live concert favourite. On top of that, the acoustic version of “Chasing Rubies” has already been streamed over one million times on Spotify and has had over one million Youtube views in its many different iterations.
The band have also just been announced as the main support for Jake Bugg on his UK tour in October, following a support slot with the star last year. The tour will take on nine cities and draw to a close at Alexandra Palace on October 21. With the sound of their new track “Chasing Rubies”, this tour is sure to be a mighty stepping stone for Hudson Taylor and I have my fingers crossed that it gives them the spotlight and attention they need to get where they want and deserve to be! The brothers are in the middle of finishing their debut album which is set for release early next year and is already firmly on my wish list!
