TE dness – “Swing My Way”:
West London rapper Te Dness yesterday released the visual for his new single “Swing My Way“, through the established GRM Daily channel. Te has been releasing consistently impressive music, with an instantly likeable tone and varied content. His freestyle video, also released through GRM Daily back in February, is still one of the best things I’ve seen in 2015 from a UK rapper. We also get a preview of a new track, “Repping”, and 2016 is set to be a big year for the London MC. Watch the video below.
Kendrick Lamar – “God Is Gangsta”:
Kendrick Lamar released his third studio album, To Pimp A Butterfly, in March 2015, when it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and was even nominated for 11 Grammy Awards later in the year, making it one of Lamar’s most successful and popular albums ever. To follow the trend of releasing stunning visuals for To Pimp A Butterfly, he recently released a brand new music video and short film called God Is Gangsta. It features the songs “u” and “For Sale (Interlude)”. You can watch the seven minutes short film below.
Travis Scott – “Wonderful” + “A-Team”:
Travis Scott released his debut studio album, Rodeo, in September 2015, to generally favourable reviews. He has been regarded as an exceptional musician, and Scott isn’t about to let anyone forget that just because it’s a brand new year. To prove this, he has released two new tracks, “Wonderful”, a song that also happens to feature The Weeknd, and “A-Team”, already building anticipation for what the musician will get up to in 2016, and whether or not there is a possible album release in the coming year. Listen to both tracks below.
Kevin Gates – “Two Phones”:
Louisiana rapper Kevin Gates continues the growing anticipation for his debut studio album, entitled “Islah” and due for release on January 29, with the release of the single “Two Phones“. The Baton Rouge MC has been releasing music since 2006, and first started to gain some real traction with his 2013 mixtape release The Luca Brasi Story, and has released singles such as “I Don’t Get Tired” and “Posed To Be In Love” which have been well received. His melodic trap blend makes his album one to watch out for later this month. Watch the video below.
Taylor Swift – “Out Of The Woods”:
On New Year’s Eve, Taylor Swift released a new music video supporting her sixth single “Out Of The Woods” from her 1989 album. The video captures Swift in number of locations such as the beach, the woods, mountain range and the sea with Swift running from wolves in the conditions of mud, bushfires and an avalanche.
Wolves are not the only concern for Swift because there are branches rapidly growing around Swift, resulting with Swift becoming entwined in the branches. The song is about a relationship and is frequently associated about her previous relationship with Harry Styles. You can watch the video below.
Lady Leshurr – “Queen’s Speech 5”:
Lady Leshurr is back with the latest and final instalment of her “Queen’s Speech” series – “Queen’s Speech 5”. The rapper from Birmingham turned the States upside-down last summer when the highly praised “Queen’s Speech 4” quickly saw itself slip onto the Beats 1 playlist, and rightly so!
Since 2009, Leshurr has released nine mixtapes and three EPs. Now, with the momentum and spark of the Queen’s Speech series, she may be in the perfect position to become a household name. Vogue called her “the hottest british female rapper” and Alexander Wang chose QS3 as the soundtrack to his Spring/Summer 2016 fashion week show this year. While QS4 saw her appear in a Samsung advert! Leshurr knows the value of a good buzz, and now, here are the visuals to the eagerly awaited “Queen’s Speech 5″.
Lesh is back to her usual antics as she elevates to a whole new level and turns it up a notch, her thick Brum accent cutting through her own grin-cracking bars (with a solid “Bye Felicia!” reference tossed in for good measure). “Your lips look like crispy bacon”, she snarls with a gigantic smile on her face as she hovers down a street, throwing in references to DJ Khaled’s Snapchat game and Adele’s “Hello” in one breath.
This is certainly not a let down and it will be hard to top this one! Could 2016 be the year Leshurr breaks into the mainstream? All hail “Queen’s Speech 5”, you can watch the video below.
