My closest call me Velo, most call me AV (Aye Vee) and the industry recognise me as AV Allure. I am a singer and songwriter from the heart of the UK, London.
My ‘King Of Hearts’ project is an audio novel of love compressed into a short story of three tracks. It covers 3 key aspects of love. Communication, confidence & acceptance.
The first single “Talk To Me” was the expressive result of love lost regrettably where I’m almost pleading for another chance. That felt like the natural reaction to heartbreak for me, especially when you weren’t ready to let go of that situation or person.
Time passes and it starts to settle in that the situation you lost sleep over for so many months now feels like a blessing in disguise and for the first time in a long time, you are able to do for you in the most unselfish way possible. And that was the birth of the second single “I Like”!
My new single “Save Your Love“, being the final episode to the series, gives the short story the conclusion of, if it’s meant to be then it will be, but make sure to reserve that space for that major “IF”.
I was in Holland for maybe around three weeks at the beginning of the pandemic and I can’t lie not being from there and being stuck there mid pandemic made it hard for me to settle so the only real activity I could do was music.
So I remember being on the phone to my boy LJ ( the producer for “Save Your Love”) and him saying “bro get a bottle of Hennessy and whatever else you need and get down here“. Believe it or not that day I wasn’t really up to it, I dunno why but I just wasn’t feeling to go studio that day!
As soon as I walked through the door, I heard him playing with the sounds and within half an hour, I had laid down the hook and verse and it came straight from the heart, I didn’t even write it down, it just came and it came damn good!
We ended up doing three tracks that night and thought nothing of it. This Is usual for me because I’m also a writer, I’ve developed a tendency of detachment to my work which makes it easier to give even my favourite works away.
But when I got back to the UK, it was the reaction of all my peers that let me know this was a lot more special than I thought and it got even clearer when I sent it to Moelogo to bless it with me! He called me back with an idea on the same day I sent him the track.
I can’t lie I was really amazed at what the track had become with us both on it! I loved it. He loved it and both of our teams were on board and just like that, the good energy of the project started to manifest!
The theme for the video came about from me really wanting to keep the focus in one place at a time. It’s always great aesthetics to have a lot going on in a video, but it always takes away from the message of the song and this time, I wanted to reverse that. Less focus on what’s going on outside of what you can hear.
So if you’ve ever been through heartbreak and recovered because a lot of us don’t recover if we’re being completely honest with ourselves, then this short story of trading your love for everyone else for self-love is a perfect listen!
