I’ve had a lot more time to listen to new music during isolation and I just discovered this song titled “Glitter” by an artist called BENEE whilst being in lockdown. I absolutely love everything about it, it’s such a feel-good song!
Another new favourite from my new list of discoveries is “You And I” by Jakob Ogawa. Jakob is such a cool guy and I absolutely love this song, and as some of you may know, I’m a huge fan of Lianne La Havas and she’s recently started releasing new music and blessed us with three new tracks, with “Can’t Fight” being my favourite.
Grab the tissues. “BRB” is the new one from the incredible Mahalia and it makes me emosh. Once you’ve finished crying to Mahalia, pop this tune “Tondo” by Disclosure on and get the party started. This is a new absolute summer banger from Disclosure. I can close my eyes and just see myself at a beach party in Ibiza – soon come!
I actually discovered “SGSY” by Oklou because it was produced by my boy Felix Joseph and I think it’s just fab. Oklou is an incredible French singer, songwriter & producer and if you haven’t heard of her yet, you will soon!
“Supaloney” is another one by BENEE. I had no idea this song was by her! I literally just searched it now and found out! This song is everywhere, and I love it. “Say So” by Doja Cat is another summer feel good tune I’ve been blasting this lockdown! Doja Cat can do no wrong with the vibes.
Moses Sumney genuinely has it all. He’s the coolest kid – I want to be his friend! This song “Cut Me” is pure, gentle magic and it’s taken off his brand new album Grae. This is one of my favourites, but I urge you to listen to the whole thing.
If you’ve caught any of my IG live gigs recently, you’ll know Ari Lennox is one of my absolute faves as we’re always talking about her in between tracks and in the comments! Her album came out last year but I’m still banging every day she is incredible, and this song “Up Late” is so sexy. It was a great one to get me through isolation.
Sophie Faith is such a beautiful, talented young lady. Her voice is super soulful, and this song “Salt” has so much sass. I absolutely love it.
“Come On Over Baby” by Cristina Aguilera is not a new one but I’ve just added this banger to my current playlist and it just makes me feel fab. Crank it up for a dose of pop nostalgia and have a dance round the living room. Don’t stop and then go straight into “Move On Up” by Curtis Mayfield. You won’t regret it. You’ll feel fab!
Right, now it’s time to wind down with this beautiful new song titled “Blue” from Kamal, and to round it up, “Fortune” is a gorgeous new song from one of my favs Laura Marling. Check out her brand new album Songs For Daughter, it’s so lovely.
