British R&B singer Ella Mai started 2019 as she means to go on with two sold-out shows at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire. The 24-year-old singer topped the US R&B chart in 2018 with her hit “Boo’d Up,” making her the first UK artist to achieve this feat in over twenty years. Her smooth, 90s influenced, R&B has won her many fans around the world, and West London was in sweet-sounding voice to accompany her throughout the night.
The two shows in London were Ella Mai’s final UK dates on ‘The Debut Tour’ before crossing the Channel to mainland Europe, then the Atlantic for over twenty dates in America through February and March. Our photographer Robert Alleyne was there to share in the excitement.
