Rosalia Vila i Tobella, known as Rosalía, performed at the Budweiser Stage on September 23rd, 2022, as part of her Motomami World Tour.
The concert felt like we were invited into her artistic mind. The show started with her and her dancers, also known as her “motopapis”, slowly crawling onto the stage wearing glowing motorcycle helmets. Tensions were high as fans screamed along to the intro song “Matsuri-Shake” by the Japanese girl group Ni Hao.
Rosalia launched herself with the reggaeton-inspired song “Saoko”. She then follows through with her famous hits such as “Bizcochito”, “Chicken Teriyaki” and “Malamente”.
Rosalía delivered a stunning performance that her fans will remember. She went to the barricade of the crowd with her microphone, letting some lucky fans sing Bad Bunny’s part of the song “La Noche de Anoche”. She thanked the audience and shouted out her appreciation to the city of Toronto, in which the crowd cheered and roared.
Gifts, including a silver ring, a sombrero hat, and stuffed animals, were thrown onto the stage, hoping the singer would notice. Rosalía gave one lucky fan, who gifted her the silver ring, a personal hug, and a shout-out.
Rosalía is currently promoting her third studio album Motomami, which was released in March 2022. The album features a collaboration with artists like The Weeknd and Tokischa. She will spend the next few months touring the album across the United States and Europe.
