If there was ever a time for fish nets, smudged black eyeliner and oversized leather jackets – it has to be a Pretty Reckless concert. The New York rock band, fronted by former Gossip Girl star Taylor Momsen, did not fail to disappoint when they took over the O2 Guildhall Southampton for a sold-out show on November 2.
Firstly with the excellent choice of their support act, The Cruel Knives, a UK-based band, the evening off to an electric and atmospheres start. The energy and connection that the band have together definitely was felt and requested by the audience. I definitely recommend checking them out.
The Pretty Reckless truly showed us what it meant to have a death by rock n roll. They work an effort to put on a captivating show for their fans and honestly didn’t miss a beat at all. It was apparent that they were all enjoying themselves and exactly where they needed to be – performing and giving us the show of a lifetime.
In recent years, that is something that has been missing in bands that connect of with both each other and the audience. And The Pretty Reckless were a prime example that they can still bring it and, more importantly, put on a show and connection with their fans.
The Pretty Reckless’ new album Other Worlds is out now and they kick off their European tour on Monday, November 7 in the Netherlands, with future shows in Germany, Poland, Austria, Switzerland and Italy, before closing the tour in France on November 18.
